Foggy Barn
I've driven by this old barn many times and always thought it would make a good subject under the right conditions. I awoke early one morning and immediately drove to this location in the hopes of catching the barn through the fog before it burned off.
Angry Arch
The waves were 14' or larger this day and Keyhole Arch in Big Sur, CA put on quite a show. This was my second trip to the Arch in 2014, so I decided to mix things up a bit and shoot all of my pictures this day in portrait (vertical) orientation. It worked out well and I like many of the images I was able to capture this day.
Blue Torrent
Spirit Falls on the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge is a spectacular site. Standing on the rocks beside the Little White Salmon river the cool mist from the falls was a welcome break from the heat of this July day. While the falls are certainly beautiful, the hike and climb down to the falls can be quite treacherous and should only be attempted with the right safety gear.

Driving home from work one evening I spotted this cloud above the ridge to the east of town. The sun was low in the western sky and starting to light up the hills so I ran home and grabbed my camera and tripod as quickly as I could, returning to this spot just in time to capture the setting sun turning the hills a brillant gold.

A rainbow, or mistbow in this case, formed at the base of Bridalveil Fall in Yosemite National Park. Given the drought conditions in California the flow over the falls was relatively light compared to prior years.
